Some homeschooling students are successful in studying their courses by themselves but occasionally come to Educere for help in understanding a topic. Other students ask for weekly or daily lessons to help them complete a curriculum in short time spans. Some families choose homeschooling so they can have complete control over the chosen curriculum. Educere works with whatever curriculum or textbook a student brings to us.
Texas Tech University offers correspondence courses that can be used for homeschooling. Some classes are online; others are handled only through the U.S. mail. These courses for homeschooling include all core courses and many elective courses for elementary, middle and high school. Students can select individual courses, or take all the courses leading to a high school diploma authorized by the Texas Education Agency. Students may complete the work for these classes entirely by themselves, or may come to Educere for any amount of assistance they want.
Students who usually attend a conventional school may drop out due to lengthy illness or other causes. When medical problems are under control and they are ready to return to school, they may find they have missed so much of the semester that they cannot learn the missed material in time to finish the semester successfully. In such cases, students can come to Educere to master their school’s curriculum,and reenter their school shortly thereafter.
Some students have dropped out of high school for a few years and want to earn a conventional high school diploma in a short amount of time. These students can take Texas Tech’s courses and earn Texas Tech’s accredited high school diploma. Educere will help these students enroll in Texas Tech's program and study for the courses. Any prior successfully completed high school coursework can be used in Texas Tech's high school diploma plan, without having to be retaken.
