Our Teachers

Mathematics through Calculus

Former civil engineer, previously certified as a Professional Engineer in Texas. B.S. in Civil Engineering. He finished in the top 10% of his class in the naval nuclear power school, and returned to that school as an instructor.
University professor. Ph.D. in Physics. He has taught in Russia, Israel and the U.S., and has made oral presentations at conferences in Russia, Japan, United Kingdom, Italy and France. He can teach in English, Russian, Hebrew and Esperanto. He has taught Esperanto.
Houston Community College math instructor. B.S in physics. Has taught math at community college level for 21 years.

Chemistry
A full time chemist who designs and oversees the production of chemicals for the oil and gas exploration companies.
Chemist for a major energy company. Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. He can teach in English and French, the language in which he earned his first university degree.

Physics
Former civil engineer. Same person as above.
University professor. Ph.D. in Physics. Same person as above.

Biology
University professor of Biology. Our high school students have been enthusiastic about his teaching.
Pre-Med fourth year university student, majoring in Biology. We normally require our teachers to have at least a bachelor’s degree, but this person is unusually effective, and parents and students ask for her by name.

English
Teacher with over 30 years of experience. B.A. in History and M.Ed. She has taken seminars in the teaching of AP, G/T from Rice University. She teaches literary analysis of novels, plays and also teaches writing essays and research papers. Has background in writing, journalism and ESL.

History
Former classroom teacher with over 30 years of experience. Same person as above.

Spanish
Former classroom teacher of Spanish. Master’s degree in Spanish and an Ed.D. in bilingual assessment. She has worked in Spain and South America and currently teaches personal finance in Spanish.
Retired diplomat from a South American country. Bachelor’s degree from his own country and three master’s degrees from an American university.
Former teacher in a private school. B.A. with Special Honors in Plan II at UT in Austin. This is a bachelor’s degree in which most courses are at the honors level of difficulty. MBA from UT in Austin. She has been a software consultant in Mexico.

French
Professional translator. Diplôme de Compétence de Langues. Native of France. She has taught French individually and in high schools and community colleges for 18 years.
Chemist with Ph.D. One of his first languages is French, and he earned his first university degree at a French speaking university.

German
Teacher and translator. M.A. in German plus two years of graduate study in Germany. She has taught high school and university graduate students, and translated a 228 page book from German to English.

Latin
Former elementary and high school Teacher. Bachelor’s in Latin and Spanish. Master’s in Secondary Education. She has taught Latin, Spanish, ESL, Special Education, elementary reading for 30 years. Master teacher of Latin at Austin College summer programs.

Elementary School and Middle School
Some of the teachers mentioned above also teach elementary and middle school students. Establishing rapport before teaching begins is very important with elementary and middle school students. One final exam season, our Latin teacher prepared seventh grade students for their Texas history exams. Happy students went out the door, and the parents sent back reports of good grades. Our Spanish teacher who has been a software consultant in Mexico, and holds an MBA degree has captivated four year old children and taught them reading readiness and Spanish. We also have a teacher with 38 years of K-8 experience as classroom teacher and department chairman for G/T and special education.
Most of our teachers mentioned above teach other subjects also. We offer help in Business Mathematics, Statistics, Power Point, Excel, Algebra, Geometry, ESL, Middle and Elementary School courses. We have also found teachers for Mandarin Chinese and American Sign Language.
